How To Find Cheap Airfare

When you need to find a flight somewhere, usually you don’t have a lot of time to scour the internet trying to save just a few dollars. But, there are a few tips that you can follow in order to find the best price for the flight that you need: First, determine which airport you are flying in to and whether you have options for other airports. Second, Check several of the big websites to compare prices. Third, wait 2-3 days to see if any of the prices drop.

1. Where Are You Flying?

Look at the area that you are flying into, because sometimes there are other airports within close proximity that might have cheaper prices. For example, if you are planning to fly into Southern California, you will find that there are 3-4 airports within driving distance, so sometimes it may be cheaper to fly into one of the smaller airports and then take public transportation to your destination.

2. Look Online

Many times you can find cheaper airline ticket prices by searching online. Many airlines charge fees for booking over the phone, so do a Google search for flights going into your destination and compare some of the bigger travel websites to determine what the prices are like. Often, you can reduce the price of the ticket by changing the time of day that you are flying or being flexible with your layovers.

3. Wait a Few Days

Depending on the day of the week, the prices may go up or down. Flight costs vary depending on how many seats are available on each plane and what the airline is anticipating. For example, flights tend to be more expensive on Mondays, because that is a popular day for businesmen to have their work flights booked– so the airlines raise the prices to match demand.
